Apple Pie Nigella Lawson

semalam pwincess teringin yang amat nak makan apple pie. apple pie yang diidam bukan sebarangan apple pie, tapi apple pie yang dibuat sendirik. mule-mule nak guna shortcut, g beli ready made puff pastry. tapi prince kata, betul ke pastry yang ni, lagi pun, kita tak sure mama ade tolong belikan ke tak pie mould yang pwincess kirim. (note: ade satu kedai kat kampung yang mama selalu singgah kalau nak beli brassware or acuan or etc, pasal murah sket)

so last-last tak beli pun puff pastry tu. tapi bile mama dah balik dari kampung, baru dia inform yang dia ada acuan untuk pie kalau kita nak try guna. lenkali kalau dia balik kampung baru dia belikan acuan yang pwincess kirim tuh. so semalam pwincess pun mulakan la projek apple pie from scratch. i used nigella lawson's recipe.

result dia?

rasa superb. tapi resipi dia mcm tak betul sket tang shortcrust pastry tuh. masa menguli pun dah ada rasa mcm tak betul je sukatan yang diberi, tapi comments yang diberikan oleh readers for her recipe tuh memang lah sangat mengujakan. tapi however, menjadi jugaklah apple pie tuh. so all in all, maybe in the future, leh refer to nigella's apple pie filling recipe, but for the shortcrust recipe, i think i'll pass.

GLEE ke geli??

i just love chris colfer who stars in GLEE. at first, i just dont see why people heart this musical comedy tv series, but after watching the first 2 episodes, i'm totally into it. can't wait for the next season to be aired.

and, saya sangat suke itu kurt hummel. suke suke suke. wakakaka. dia and his character in the show memanglah sangat sesuai weh...and, me so likey this particular episode di mana kurt jadi kicker in the football team. was trying to get the part where kurt's turn to kick the ball in youtube tapi most of the videos was removed for certain reasons.


i keep on watching these 2 snippets of kurt ... they really make my day. hehehehe~

Month of Barbecue

yes. my family loves bbq so much that we had it for 3 consecutive weeks. wow..

this afternoon, we had it under the scorching sun. we, ourselves were like sizzling bbq itself. jam 3.30pm tadi dah start panggang memanggang. but, nevertheless, the food is getting better and better everytime we organize it.

early this morning, ma and pa went to kuala selangor to catch fish. at the pasar, of course. ikan-ikan tu sumenye besar-besar dan fresh. kerang tak sebesar last time, but isi kerang kali ni besar, penuh shell kerang tu dengan isinya. nyum nyum!

pwincess & prince took charge of drinks for today's event. boy, were we glad that our drinks mendapat sambutan hangat by everyone :))). esok nak g beli lagi yeo's justea ... green tea + peach and green tea & white grape sangat shedapppp ...

Chicken Soup For The Soul ;-p

pwincess decided to drop by at the newly opened carrefour at Kota Damansara after work today.

all i can say is, tak best gile carrefour tu! dah la takde clear direction nak pi sana, barang-barang pun limited! i wanted to buy some vege for tonite's dinner tapi sayur2 idaman hati takde .. last2 beli terung aje. and worst part is, nak keluar pun terpaksa bersimpang siur ... dia tutup jalan sana sini ... adusss ... unlike giant KD la.

anyhow. tonite's dinner telah berjalan dengan jayanya ... tho' instead of stir fried mix vege, pwincess cooked terung masak sambal, and chicken soup sempoi :


Bahan-Bahannya :-)

600 g ayam, potong sederhana besar, cuci dan toskan
3 biji kentang (besar), kupas, dan potong 8 setiap biji

1 sup bunjut "ADABI"

1 kiub ayam "MAGGI"
2 liter air (atau secukupnya)
Garam secukup rasa

Hirisan daun sup/daun bawang*
Bawang goreng*(*untuk hiasan)

Bahan Kisar :-)

7 biji bawang merah
4 ulas bawang putih
1 1/2 camca teh lada hitam biji
2 inci halia

1/2 cm kunyit hidup

3 biji buah keras


Bahan Tumis :-)

1 batang kayu manis

1 kuntum bunga lawang

3 biji buah pelaga

5 kuntum bunga cengkih


Cara membuatnya :-)

  1. Panaskan minyak dalam periuk, masukkan bahan tumis dan tumis hingga wangi. Masukkan bahan kisar dan masak hingga terbit minyak.
  2. Masukkan ayam dan gaul rata. Tuang air dan masukkan sup bunjut, kiub ayan dan juga kentang. Masak dengan api sederhana hingga mendidih. Masukkan garam dan masak hingga kentang empuk dan ayam masak.
  3. Rasa garam dan jika kurang tambah secukup rasa. Taburkan hirisan daun sup/daun bawang dan bawang goreng sebelum dihidang bersama nasi, nasi impit atau pun mee hoon/mee kuning....senangkannn!!!!

Lokan

i was surfing the net about a couple of weeks ago to find out more about puding kelapa...since they say puding kelapa is more tastylicious as compared to jelly kelapa. while surfing ... i found out that puding kelapa and lokan bakar (roasted clam) teramatlah famous amos kat kota kinabalu .... ape tu lokan? tertanya-tanya la kan ... prince H kata, sejenis seafood ... isi dia besar....sedap.....adussss .... lagi la curious. dari curious terus jadi ngidam. tapi mana nak carik lokan ni .... takkan nak kena g KK pulak, kan ... (tapi kalau g KK ape salahnye...hehe...)

so. masa on the way back from PD the other week, prince H nampak ada orang jual siput-siput tepi jalan ... terus dia kejutkan pwincess , "chom, chom. mon rasa mcm nampak orang jual lokan..nak tak?"

uih. mestilah nak.

park kete da turun tengok ... betul lokan!!! adui bes gile!! terus beli 8 kg okei.

la la la.... gumbiranya hati dah dpt lokan~

balik balik terus mulakan operasi sental lokan. tapi takde lah teruk sgt nak sental, tak mcm kerang. pastu ape pwincess buat was, masukkan sume loakn dlm peiuk besar, panaskan atas api sederhana. nnt lokan-lokan ni akan keluarkan air dari dalam shell dia......dan bile dia dah masak, dia akan pop pop terbukak ... nanti boleh makan begitu saja, cecah dgn air asam/budu/cili sos/etc or kumpul sume isi lokan dan buat goreng2 dengan kuey tiow atau lauk pauk

family day pak aji karim

we had our family day last week at PD. mama decided to book the government's resthouse ... tak penah cube lagi pun guna rumah rehat gov't ni, so nak la merasa at least sekali ... the rate is quite high, ala-ala rate hotel gitu. if i'm not mistaken, 1 unit with 2 rooms around rm625, but after tolak tolak rate civil servant, dapat dalam rm100-200 cenggitu. it's not allowed to masak-memasak dalam unit tersebut ... kalau kantoi, kena bayar fine rm200. they also installed smoke detector in each unit, so as to detect kalau org ade yang degil nak masak jugak dalam unit masing2. from external view, nampak cantik (sori tak snap pun gamba rumah rehat ni) but the internal view is so-so.

nway. pwincess and prince didnt stay there. we stayed at my company's resort, and the whole family had bbq at our place. glad that everyone enjoyed and appreciated the place, even the maids pun tak sudah-sudah memuji ... "cantik banget tempat tinggal kakak...". itu baru tgk unit, belum lagi dibawak jalan-alan pusing satu resort. he he.

nasi padang dang dang dang

hello.

lama betul tak updet blog. sure blog ni rindu pwincess kan. oloh oloh..

nway. semalam rasa nak banjer satu family makan kat shogun. tapi tapi tapi. madam rasa reluctant akan kehalalan shogun tu since she watched 1 tv slot baru-baru ni about kopitiams menipukan lesen halal mereka. the tv slot cite pasal kopitiams ni masa mula-mula bukak mmg 110% halal ... lama2 they start selling off non halal items and bile lesen halal dah mati, they tak renew it. that's about it lah. and that explains why plan shogun bertukar jadi plan sari ratu. bukan sari ratu masker masker yer .. but nasi padang sari ratu tu....since kitaorg smpi sana jam 230, byk lauk yang dah habes...contohnye ... gulai tunjang.


prince H tibe-tibe bisik pd pwincess : "ni saraf tunjang yang dimasak gulai ke?"

hehe....

tak sayang ... ni ialah tendon atau layman's term nye is rawan yang dimasak gulai. rasa dia seperti lemak-lemak lembut cenggitu. kalau kitaorg g indon, mmg parents akan cari itu tunjang. pwincess tak brapa sgt tunjang-tunjang ni.

tapi korang kena try es teler! mmg bes! es teler ni dessert indon yang fofular, ade ice batu served with buah nangka, isi kelapa muda, sago pearl, alpukat and buah nau ... and nnt dia akan mix syrup and santan .. cube jgn tak cube...



nway, food was good tapi harga dia agak tak padan lah. sambal ijo dia..pinggan kecik dah rm3. terer tul orang2 indon berbisnis kat mesia.
