Encik Mon's 2013 Birthday Celebration

Mon, a thousand apologies ... I had drafted earlier .... but simply could not find time to post the entry ....

Last Sunday, 17th March,  marked Encik Mon's birthday celebration. I wanted to celebrated earlier but there were so many things happened that we simply could not find time for it ... sorry Mon! Encik Mon requested for a Japanese spread .... so apa lagi .... Fu-Rin lah the answer !!!

Family Day 10.11.12 - Unleash the toon in you!

nice date, ain't it?

that is the date for our division's family day this year. initially i was indifferent towards family day ... ado ko nan hado ko ... samo jo yo ... hihi. but it was Encik Mon that got so excited and it was contagious ... and eventually i was counting days to family day.terlebih sudaaa. but, thank you Mon, for showing support in whatever way you can, love you for that :) Anyhow, the pink panther committee kept on sending information through emails ... so that too, had some impact and i was not indifferent anymore. the power of presence.

we had family day at sunway lagoon and the ticket is for all parks. sudah berubah ye ... several years back, cuma ade 2-3 parks, but now sudah 5 parks. i was in the angry birds team, thus explained the red colour.

when we arrived, the senamrobik sudah halfway started and my stomach was growling with hunger ... we chose nasi lemak for our breakfast and KFC set for lunch. after we found a good spot, makan-makan, make ourselves comfortable, then we went to watch performance by the departments under AG Zila's div.  

 

Then it was time for telematch and Encik Mon was a good sport and wanted to be in the water tug of war game. the team won second place ... yeay!

okay, this is the funniest part. i was snapping away Encik Mon & little button's picture when these 2 arabians from elsewhere rushed in and cuit cuit our baby and asked me to snap their picture and keep on saying cute baby, cute baby. they looked really pleased and excited with little button

all in all, this year's family day was definitely a memorable one .... because it's the first time we went as a family .... together with little button ... (sejak kahwin, takde tau family day, only god knows why lah kannn ... anyway it was a good timinglahh since now we have our little button) .... and also, i won Ipod Touch for lucky draw! Alhamdulillah .... syukur syukur~ ~

Selamat Hari Raya to all Muslims!

This year, as always, I baked some cookies and a few types of cakes for Eid and for the first time, I didn't buy any kerepek for raya! This time, I limit myself to 3 types of cookies, but I quadrupled/quintupled the dough for each recipe for my in laws, my parents and siblings. The cookies are Snow Almond, Suji Brunei and Mazola. As for the cakes, I baked steamed fruit cake, green tea swiss roll and trio marble cake. I also made some buah rotan. And I am one proud baker to announce that all the cakes and a few containers of cookies were gone by the morning of second hari raya :)

Oh ya. When we went visiting neighbours and relatives' houses, many complimented that I have lose some weight .... what a good surprise to hear that as I wasn't dieting or what ... and besides that, I discovered that a few of my parents' friends thought that mon was my parents' son and I am the menantu ... he he!! where did that come from??

Imran's 4th Birthday Bash + Iftar

Last Saturday we all gathered at my eldest brother's house for iftar cum birthday party for his eldest son, Imran. He has been begging his parents to have his birthday party at home this time (when i was a small child, i would love to have my birthday party other than at home, how different we are, eh?) ... well, i guess to Imran, celebrating at home is more fun and livelier.

We thought it would be a simple family affair, but it turned out to be meriah, maybe because all the invitees turned up. I brought green tea (matcha) swiss roll for dessert, but they were all gone even before the main dish are eaten!

After our solat berjemaah, we ate and ate till there is nothing else left to eat ... and then, it's time for cake cutting ceremony.... yeayyyy! (oopss...terlebih sudaaah)

The boy requested for a ball cake. And we thought his parents would order a semi sphere ball-shaped cake, but it turned out to be a padang bola cake. nonetheless, Imran squealed in delight ... padang bola pun padang bola lah ... lagi ramai dapat ngappp :) it was a red velvet cake

Imran couldn't care less about the cake, but all he cares about are the football players and the tiang gol. lawak betul lahh mamat sorang ni

Then it was time to tear off the birthday present wrappers ... Imran has a self appointed assistant...his ever helpful dearest cousin, Ain :)

he got so obsessed with transformers this year, that he received 2 transformers presents from his aunts and uncles ;p

last year was ultraman, previous year was lorries. wonder what's going to be next?

dalam hati rasa mcm .... sukar untuk dipercayai ... pulak tu, mesti staff kat klcc dah rembat habis kan ... tapi ni bukan selalu beb. so dengan semangat yang jitu, kita pun keluar la balik, menuju ke kl. haa ... tabah tak tabah ...

as expected ... pabila masuk je kl ... congested tak hengat donia. all in all, sejam setengah kitaorang dm kete utk perjalanan sehala. dengan hujan lebat lagi. bile sampai je coach klcc, wahh ... kena q. rupenye staff coach tutup kedai utk public, dibuka hanye utk staff kampeni encik mon. baguihla .. dpt shop dgn aman sket.

mmm ... makcik-makcik hangkut beg berkoyan-koyan ... nak kata murah pun, idok la sangat. handbag cun-cun 30% je ... yang kecik-kecik tu yang 50%. tapi tgk gak barang la. macam pwincess, dapat coach ponytail scarf discount up to 70% ... dahla coach poppy ... considered baru lagi model tu ... so, hati jadi gumbira~

What we did last Saturday ...

Hubby's birthday fall on last Friday but he was being such an angel, asking me not to do anything for him as I had an exam the next day (Saturday). So after my exam ended, we went off to have lunch at Rakuzen. He thought of having Japanese since we had a very heavy breakfast - nasi kandaq line clear : all the way from Penang, courtesy of my bro :)

as well as an array of sushi delights...love the one with fish roe, they popped in the mouth!

Then we went shopping for a while .... and then it's time for dessert!

Then we went to PIL's house for another celebration .... wah wah wah~

Chicken mandy rice at Restoran Taif, KD that I mention in earlier post. BIL & SIL don't eat lamb, so we ordered additional lamb dish for ourselves

The next day, we had another celebration at my parents' as well! mom cooked nasi lemak and brothers brought buttered prawn and big apple donuts and I made this devil's food chocolate cake with cream cheese frosting and ganache. I finally use up the valrhona choc that I've been safeguarding all this while for a special occasion ... and it was a special occasion! and yup, yup, u can see the fondant decorations .... that's the main purpose of me splurging at cake connection and fondant experiments that I mention in my marshmallow post :)
