Weekend Gathering

alhamdulillah, kenduri doa selamat (semalam) dah selamat berlangsung ... elok pulak cuaca semalam, tak panas terik mcm sepanjang minggu ni and tak pulak ujan lebat. it was just a small gathering ... jemput sedara mara dekat-dekat ...

menu untuk kenduri semalam: roasted kambing, nasi dagang (full set) + sambal udang, dessert and fruits. i made kuih putri ayu and chocolate cake with fudge. For the choc cake, I made 2 sets of batter for me to steam and bake. I wanted to see which version is the best dari segi texture, moist and rasa. Both cakes were made a day earlier and pwincess bubuh fudge topping just before serving to guests.





the results? taste-wise, both cakes scored well :) texture-wise, the baked version is more mampat .compared to steamed version. nak kata mampat, not so, actually. it's best to say that the version baked kurang berongga lah ... tak dense yet tak spongy while the steamed version berrongga sket and totally melts in the mouth. rasa? both teramatlah sedappp! as for the putri ayu ... everyone just raved about it! ha ha ha ... tak sangka kuih melayu yang satu ni ramai peminat rupanya ...

so that leaves me with one more baking project ~ devil's food chocolate cake before encik mon fly away ...huhuu~
